The (in)famous Roberto Donna is re-establishing his presence downtown with the opening of Alba Osteria in the Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood (at 4th and I NW). Opening day is scheduled for 12/30/13, and they will be open New Year’s Eve. This Friday’s Dining Bisnow will have all the details – but for now, here’s a sneak peek!
The front of the restaurant faces 4th Street.
The beautiful, wood-burning pizza oven is surrounded by arfully placed firewood.
This iron-and-stained-glass screen divides the bar and the main dining area, creating an air of semi-seclusion.
This is the larger of the two main dining areas, and can be reserved for large parties.
The more intimate “private-private” dining space is surrounded by metal cages that will soon house the restaurant’s extensive wine collection. Note the Game-of-Thrones-esque chandelier.
